Many might not be as familiar with this concept as with Monster High (High School for the children of monsters) so let's have a EAH 101.
Ever After High ja Monster High on Mattelin konsepteja kirjoille, netissä julkaistaville minisarjoille, elokuville ja nukeille. Ever After High kertoo alkuperäisten, perinteisten satujen jälkikasvusta lukiossa jossa heitä koulutetaan elämään sama satu uudelleen jotta sadut eivät katoaisi. Koulun ovat perustaneet Grimmin veljekset, joiden sadut ovat hyvin edustettuina koulussa, mutta muitakin satuja ja jopa baletteja on edustettuna.
Ever After High and Monster High are concepts by Mattel to books, small episodes in internet, movies and dolls. Ever After High tells about the children of the original fairytales in a High School where they are taught to live the tale just like before so that the tales wouldn't disappear. The school is founded by Brothers Grimm, whose fairytales are well represented in the school but other tales and nursery rhymes can be found too and even ballets.
Kirjallisuus ja nettiepisodit olivat jonkin aikaa kytkeytyneenä toisiinsa, mutta erkanivat omille teilleen hyvin pian. Ever After High kirjoja on kirjoittanut jo kolme tekijää, ja puuhakirjoja useampi. (Melissa Yu on ehdoton suoikkini kuvittajista) Nukkien mukana tulee myös päiväkirja, joka voi olla ristiriidassa sekä nettiepisodien sekä kirjojen kanssa joten välillä näiden kaikkien nitominen kokonaisuudeksi on vaikeaa. Itse olenkin eritellyt kirjallisuuden ja episodit omiksi erillisiksi maailmoiksi samasta aiheesta jotta mielenraua säilyisi.
Literature and webisodes were linked together for a while but soon parted from each other. Ever After High books have been written by three writers already and activity books even more. (Melissa Yu is my absolute favourite of the illustrators) With the dolls there comes a diary which can be in conflict with both the books and the webisodes, so gathering all of them to one can be hard. I have parted literature and webisodes to their own worlds from the same thing to keep my piece of mind.

Itse kiinnostuin Ever After High:sta juurikin sen takia koska olen lukenut alkuperäisiä satuja, myös niitä kammottavia Grimmin alkuperäisiä, ja idea nähdä klassikoiden kuten Lumikin, Tuhkimon, Ruususen ja näiden satujen pahisten jälkipolvi oli minusta hyvä. Katsoin yhden jakson jossa Pahan Kuningattaren tytär ja Hullun Hatuntekijän tytär palasivat kouluun ja ihastuin hahmoihin heti. Animaatio oli kaunista ja Hullun Hatuntekijän tyttären persoonallisuus aivan ihana. Heti alussa esitettiin ajatus; entäpä jos paha ei haluakaan olla paha? Ainut lapsi ei halua elää vanhempiensa satua juuri niinkuin on kirjoitettu? Mitteepä sitten voijjaan tehä?
I got interested in Ever After High because I have read the original stories, even the horrible Grimm versions, and the idea to see the children of classics like Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and the bad guys from the stories was great in my opinion. I watched one webisode where the daughter of the Evil Queen and the daughter of the Mad Hatter were returning to school and I loved the characters. The animation was beautiful and the personality of the daughter of Mad Hatter absolutely lovely. Right in the beginning there was given a thought that what if the villain doesn't want to be villain? The only child doesn't want to relive the story just like it's written? What then?
